Thank you for purchasing WC Order Limit. We have prepared this detailed documentation for your comfy usage however please do not hesitate to contact us for any issues that you may encounter.

WC Order Limit is a WordPress plugin for Woocommerce and WC Vendors. WC Order Limit applies five different types of limits on orders. You can apply limit on quantity and amount as well. Customers cannot place orders until they fulfill the minimum and maximum limits for products, categories vendors and cart totals

These limits are as follows.

• Product Limits
• Product Category Limits
• WC Vendors Limits
• Cart Total Limits
• Order based on Customer Limits
• Guest Limits

WC Order Limit is designed to give maximum performance even on a minimum system configuration however the hardware configuration of the server, connection speed and physical location are significant factors which are affecting the performance. The minimum requirements are listed below:

•  PHP 5.2.4+
• Configurable maximum execution time for PHP
• WordPress 3.5+
• Woocommerce
• WC Vendors
• IE Edge, Firefox, Safari, Chrome for admin panel 

In order to install plugin to your server log in to your WordPress administration panel and click on Plugins » Add New from left navigation. In the opening screen click on Upload Plugin and select wc-order-limit.zip file from your computer, click on Install Now and wait for uploading. When it finishes click on Activate Plugin under WC Order Limit in plugin listing page. You will see WC Order Limit menu on left navigation under Woocommerce menu when activation process completed.

Each Product, Product Category, Vendor would have the following common features:

Each Feature of the plugin is described below with example where required

• Limits for both Item's quantity in cart or Item's total amount in cart

  
  Shop Manager/Admin can apply limits on both item quantity or item amount

  Example:

  Quantity should be applied as follows: Minimum of 10 and Maximum of 20 Fruit Ninja Items in cart or

  Amount should be applied as follows: Fruit Ninja item total in customer cart should be minimum of $100.00 and maximum of $300.

• Products Limits

  
  Shop Manager/Admin can set Min/Max limits for Products. Either you can set a different limit for each product or you can set same limit for multiple Products.

  Example:

  Limit Applied On Quantity: Minimum limit is 10 and Maximum limit is 20 for a product Fruit Ninja then customer must have greater than 10 and less than 20 items of Fruit Ninja in cart.

  Limit Applied On Amount: Minimum limit is $100.00 and Maximum limit is $300.00 for a product Fruit Ninja then this Fruit Ninja’s subtotal in cart should be greater than $100.00 and less than $300.00.

  Note : You can Disable Product Limits from advance options if you do not want this feature.

• Product Categories Limits

  Shop Manager/Admin can set Min/Max limits for Products Categories. Either you can set different limit for each Category or can also set same limit for multiple Categories.

  Example:

  Limit Applied On Quantity: Minimum limit for a product category ‘Clothing’ is 10 and maximum limit is 20 then customer must have greater than 10 and less than 20 items related to ‘Clothing’ category in cart.

  Limit Applied On Amount: Minimum limit is $100.00 and maximum limit is $300.00 for a product category ‘Clothing’ then subtotal for ‘Clothing’ category items in cart should be greater than $100.00 and less than $300.00.

  Note : You can Disable Product Categories Limits from advance options if you do not want this feature.

• Accumulative limits for Products, and Product Categories

  This plugins also provide a functionality of accumulative limits for Products and Categories. Accumulative limits will be applied on multiple Products and Categories i.e you can select more than one Product or Product Category and enable the Accumulative option then this limit will be applied on selected Products or categories accumulatively.

  Example:

  Accumulative Limit on Products: Accumulative minimum limit is 10 and maximum limit is 20 for products Fruit Ninja, Flying Ninja and Happy Ninja then limit will be applied on these products accumulatively i.e. accumulative quantity of these items in cart should be greater than 10 and less than 20.
  Considering the above example and assuming that limit is applied on amount than these products accumulative subtotal should be greater than $10.00 and less than $20.00.

  Accumulative Limit on Product Category: Accumulative minimum limit is 10 and maximum limit is 20 for categories Clothing, Books and Kitchen wares then limit will be applied on these categories accumulatively i.e. accumulative quantity of the items related to these categories in cart should be greater than 10 and less than 20.
  Considering the above example and assuming that limit is applied on amount and min/max limits are $200.00 and $500.00 respectively than the accumulative subtotal for items related to these categories should be greater than $200.00 and less than $500.00.

• Vendor Limits

  This plugins also provides limits for vendors. If you are running a multivendor store and you have installed WC Vendors or WC Vendors Pro then you can use this feature also. May be your vendors want that they will receive order on certain conditions like quantity or total amount of his Items in the cart should be greater than a specific limit.

  Example:

  Limit Applied On Quantity: Minimum limit for a Vendor ‘Larder Housewares’ is 30 and maximum limit is 45 then quantity of Larder Housewares items in cart should be greater than 30 and less than 45.

  Limit Applied On Amount: Minimum limit for a Vendor ‘Larder Housewares’ is $300.00 and maximum limit is $800.00 then subtotal for Larder Housewares items in cart should be greater than $300.00 and less than $800.00.

• You can Disable Vendor Limits from advance options it you do not want this feature.

  Each Vendor can change his limit options in his dashboard if admin allows him to do so.

  If you are using the Vendor Limits feature then your vendor can change their limit options in their dashboard area. But if admin want to restrict his vendors that they cannot not change his limit options then Shop Manager/Admin can disable this feature for specific vendors.

• Across All Orders Limit

  Before this feature all limit rules are applying on cart only, Rules does not include any product from orders which already placed. But now using across all orders you can include already ordered products, Across all orders works with maximum Quantity/Amount in a specific time span

  Example:

  Across all order on Products: Let say a product name leader shoes is added as a product rule which have maximum quantity is 10. and you check across all order in a month.Then user can order 10 products monthly not more then 10 in one month

  Across all order on Product Categories: Let say a category name Men's wear is added as a product categories rule which have maximum quantity is 10. and you check across all order in a month.Then user can order 10 products from Men's Wear Category monthly not more then 10 in one month

  Note : If you check across all orders then maximum and time span is mandatory

• Customer Limits

  This Plugins also provides customer limits for Products and Products Categories. You can limit the guest user/specific user/user based on roles to place order only if they meet the certain conditions. Shop Manager/Admin can apply limits for guest users on certain Products and Categories.

  Example:

  Guest User Limit on Products: Minimum limit is 10 and maximum limit is 20 for products Fruit Ninja, Flying Ninja and Happy Ninja and limit is applied on quantity then Guest User must have minimum of 10 and maximum of 20 items for each of the selected Products.
  Considering the above example and assuming that limit is applied on amount then subtotal for each of the selected products should be greater than $50.00 and less than $100.00 in Guest User’s cart.

  Specific User Limit on Categories: Let Say Specific User is Albert and Minimum limit is 10 and maximum limit is 20 for categories Clothing, Books and Kitchen wares and limit is applied on quantity then Albert must have minimum of 10 and maximum of 20 items related to each of the selected Categories.
  Considering the above example and assuming that limit is applied on amount then subtotal for each of the selected categories products should be greater than $50.00 and less than $100.00 in Albert’s cart.

  Specific Roles Limit on Categories: Let Say Specific Role is Subscriber and Minimum limit is 10 and maximum limit is 20 for categories Clothing, Books and Kitchen wares and limit is applied on quantity then User of Subscriber role must have minimum of 10 and maximum of 20 items related to each of the selected Categories.
  Considering the above example and assuming that limit is applied on amount then subtotal for each of the selected categories products should be greater than $50.00 and less than $100.00 in Subscriber Role User's cart.

  Note : If you are using this feature then you can also enable other limits for guests.
  Shop Manager/Admin can Disable Customer Limits from advance options if you do not want this feature.

• Cart Total Limits

  You can set Min/Max limits for cart total. You can apply this limit either on Cart Total or on total items in cart. For example you can restrict the customers that they can place order only if they have certain number of items in cart or if their cart total amount is greater than or less than the certain value.

  Note : You can Disable Cart Total Limits from advance options if you do not want this feature

• Customizable Error Messages if customer does not meet the specific conditions

  If customer does not meet any of the conditions that you have specified then error message will be shown like woocommerce default error messages on cart page and on checkout page.

  Shop Manager/Admin can also customize these messages in Advance Options tab and by using hooks.

• Enable/Disable Proceed to Checkout button

  Shop Manager/Admin can also disable Proceed to Checkout button from Advance Options Tab if there is a Limit Error in cart. If you disable the Proceed to Checkout button then it will stop the customers on cart page until they do not fulfill the required conditions.

• Enable/Disable Maximum limit.

  Maximum limit is optional for each of the feature above mentioned. Shop Manager/Admin can enable Maximum Limit for certain Product, Categories or Vendors if you want.

• Limit Time Span

  This plugin also provides an option of time span for limit. Shop Manager/Admin can enable/disable this option for each Limit Rule. If you enable time span option for a certain Limit Rule then you have to specify a time span (start time and end time) in which this limit rule will be applied.

1. Click on WC Order Limit in Woocommerce menu and then choose WC Vendors tab
2. Click on Add New Rule button.
3. Select vendor(s) on which you want to apply limits.

        You will see the following options.

• Vendor: Select Vendor(s) for which you want to apply limits.
• Minimum Limit: Set minimum limits for selected vendor(s).
• Applied On: Select either you want to apply limit on selected vendor’s items quantity in cart or on selected vendor’s items total in cart.
• Editable: Uncheck this option if you don’t want selected vendor(s) to change his limit option in his dashboard.
• Disable: You can Disable any rule by checking this option.
•  Maximum Limit: Maximum limit is optional and by default it will be disabled. You can enable this limit and can set maximum limit too.
• Time Span: You can enable Time Span for each rule and can set a Time Span for each rule by specifying Start Date and End Date.

​        Note. Admin/Shop Manager can set limit options for each vendors in vendor’s profile.

1.      Click on WC Order Limit in Woocommerce menu and then choose Products tab
2.      Click on Add New Rule button.
3.      Select product(s) on which you want to apply limits.

        You will see the following options.

• Products:Select Product(s) for which you want to apply limits.
• Minimum Limit: Set minimum limits for selected product(s).
• Applied On: Select either you want to apply limit on selected product’s quantity in cart or on selected product’s total in cart.
• Accumulative: Check this option if you want to apply limits accumulatively on selected products.
• Disable: You can Disable any rule by checking this option.
• Across All Orders: Enable this If you want rules will include already order products also. if this field is unchecked then rule will apply only on cart product it will exclude product which are already ordered

  • Monthly:   Rule will be reset start day of month which you can enter below or as a general in advance options.
    • Month Start Date:   Rule will be reset start day of month which you can enter between date 01-31.
  • Yearly:   Rule will be reset start date of year which you can select/enter below.
    • Year Start Date:   Rule will be reset start date of every year you mention here you can enter date and month for which you want this rule to repeat every year
  • Custom:   You can select From date when this rule will apply and To date as an end date when this rule will end.
    • Note:   Custom Time span will not work reoccur rule will apply only from start date to end date
• Enable for Users: You can enable each rule for users. if you enable this option you will get a user type dropdown below.
• User Type:  Select type of user for which you want to apply product rule.
  • Guest Users Only: Select this if you want to apply rule for all guest users.
  • Specific Users Only: Select this if you want to apply rule for specific users you will see a Select Users input box where you can select specific users.
  • Specific Roles Only: Select this if you want to apply rule for specific roles only you will see a Select Roles input box where you can select specific roles.

        Note. Admin/Shop Manager can set limit options for each product while editing or creating product.

1. Click on WC Order Limit in Woocommerce menu and then choose Categories tab
2. Click on Add New Rule button.
3. Select product(s) on which you want to apply limits.

        You will see the following options.

• Categories: Select Category(s) for which you want to apply limits.
• Minimum Limit: Set minimum limits for selected categories(s).
• Applied On: Select either you want to apply limit on selected category’s items quantity in cart or on selected category’s item total in cart.
• Accumulative: Check this option if you want to apply limits accumulatively on selected categories.
• Disable: You can Disable any rule by checking this option.

        You will see the following options.

• Cart Total Minumum Limit: Set minimum limit for cart total.
• Applied On: Select either you want to apply limit on quantity of items in cart or on item total amount in cart.
• Maximum Limit: Maximum limit is optional and by default it will be disabled. You can enable this limit and can set maximum limit too.

1. Click on WC Order Limit in Woocommerce menu and then choose Customer Rules tab.

        You will see the following options.

• Type:  Select type of user for which you want to apply limits.
  • All Users: Select this if you want to apply limit for all type of users
  • Selective Users: Select this if you want to apply limit for specific users you will see a Select Users input box in Users/Roles column.
  • Roles: Select this if you want to apply limit for specific roles only you will see a Select Roles input box in Users/Roles column.
  • Guest Users: Select this if you want to apply limit for all guest users.
• Users/Roles:  You could select specific users Or users based on word-press roles only if you select specific users/ roles from Type column.
• Applied on:  applied on have two options
  • No. of Orders:  Select this if you want to limit based on order(s) a user could place.
  • Total Amount:  Select this if you want to limit based on order(s) total amount a user could spend.
• Limit: How many times customer can place order or how much money he can spend as total amount.
• Disable: You can Disable any rule by checking this option.
• Time Span:  There are 5 options you can select for time span limit. Rule will be reset according to selected option.
  • Daily:   Rule will be reset everyday ( on 12:00 AM local time )
  • Weekly:   Rule will be reset start day of week which you can select from below drop down or as a general from advance options.
    • Week Start Day:   Rule will be reset start day of week which you select between Sunday-Monday.
  • Monthly:   Rule will be reset start day of month which you can enter below or as a general in advance options.
    • Month Start Date:   Rule will be reset start day of month which you can enter between date 01-31.

1. Click on WC Order Limit in Woocommerce menu and then choose Advance tab.

        You will see following configuration options here.

• Product Limits: Enable/Disable Product Limits, if disabled then Product limits will not be applied.
• Message For Product Limit: This message will be seen by customers if they do not fulfill the Min/Max limit for products in cart. You can use different tags for dynamic values.
• Message for Product limit For Across All Order Rules: If across all orders for products are enable this This message will be seen by customers if they do not fulfill the Min/Max limit for products in cart. You can use different tags for dynamic values.
• Message for Product limit For Accumulative Rules:  If accumulative option is enable Then This message will be seen by customers if they do not fulfill the Min/Max limit for products in cart. You can user different tags for dynamic values.

• {applied-on} will be replaced with either ‘Quantity’ or ‘Amount’ depending on what you have selected for relevant product rule.
• {max-limit} will be replaced by the maximum limit set for Product.
• {min-limit} will be replaced by the minimum limit set for Product.
• {product-name} will be replaced by the Product Name for which limit is reached.
• {product-names} this will work for accumulative only will be replaced by the Product Names for which limit is reached.
• {time-span} will be replaced with Weekly/Monthly/Yearly/Daily depending on what you have selected for relevant product rule.
• {limit-reset-day} will be replaced with the reset day when a limit rule will reset

• Category Limit: Enable/Disable Category Limits, if disabled then Product Category limits will not be applied.
• Message For Category Limit: This message will be seen by customers if they do not fulfill Min/Max limits for Some Category items. You can user different tags for dynamic values.
• Message for Category limit for Across All Orders: If Across all orders are enable for categories rules then this message will be seen by customers if they do not fulfill Min/Max limits for Some Category items. You can user different tags for dynamic values.
• Message for Category limit for Accumulative Rules: If accumulative option is enable this this message will be seen by customers if they do not fulfill Min/Max limits for Some Category items. You can user different tags for dynamic values.

• {category-name} will be replaced by the Category Name for which limit is reached.
• {category-names} this will work only for accumulative rules will be replaced by the Category Names for which limit is reached.
• {min-limit} will be replaced by the minimum limit set for Category.
• {max-limit} will be replaced by the maximum limit set for Category.
• {applied-on} will be replaced with either ‘Quantity’ or ‘Amount’ depending on what you have selected for relevant Category rule.
• {time-span} will be replaced with Weekly/Monthly/Yearly/Daily depending on what you have selected for relevant product rule.
• {limit-reset-day} will be replaced with the reset day when a limit rule will reset

• Vendor Limits: Enable/Disable Vendor Limits, if disabled then Vendor limits will not be applied.
• Message for Vendor Limit: This message will be seen by customers if they do not fulfill Min/Max limits for some vendor items in cart. You can user different tags for dynamic values.

• {vendor-shop-name} will be replaced by the Vendor’s Shop Name for which limit is reached.
• {min-limit} will be replaced by the minimum limit set for Vendor.
• {max-limit} will be replaced by the maximum limit set for Vendor.
• {applied-on} will be replaced with either ‘Quantity’ or ‘Amount’ depending on what you have selected for relevant Vendor rule.

• Customer Limit Options: Enable/Disable Customer Limits, if disabled then Customer limits will not be applied.
• Monthly Limit Reset:  if you select monthly time span for customer limit. Provide day of month you want specific rule to be reset Limit.
  Example:   if you select 2 then limit rule will be reset on 2nd date of month
• Weekly Limit Reset:  if you select Weekly time span for customer limit. Provide day of week you want specific rule to be reset Limit.
  Example:   if you select Sunday then limit rule will be reset on sunday of week
• Message for No of Orders:  This message will be seen by customers if they do not fulfill limit rule for no of orders.
• Message for Total Order Amount:  This message will be seen by customers if they do not fulfill limit rule for total amount for order.

• Dynamic Values Using Tags: You can use different tags for dynamic values that will show in messages of customer based rules
• {rule-limit} will be replaced by the maximum limit set for Customer(s)
• {time-span} will be replaced by the Time Span for example Daily , Weekly or Monthly.
• {limit-reset-day} will be replaced by reset day of a specific rule for customer(s) .

• Cart Total Limit: Enable/Disable Cart Total Limits, if disabled then Cart Total limits will not be applied.
• Message For Cart Total Limit: This message will be seen by customers if they do not fulfill Min/Max limits for cart totals.
• Hide Checkout Button: If this option is checked then Checkout button will be hidden and customers cannot go to checkout page if they have some limit errors in cart.

In order to deactivate the plugin log in to your WordPress administration panel and click on  Plugins » Installed Plugins from left navigation. Afterwards click on Deactivate link under WC Order Limit plugin. You will see WC Order Limit menu is disappeared from WooCommerce menu when the deactivation process completed. You can also click on Delete link and completely remove the plugin from your server.
