How It Works

After installing and activating WooCommerce Reviews for Discount plugin, you need Go to Dashboard >> Review for Discounts >> General Settings.

Discounts coupons (generated for "Discount for Review") functionality is similarly to “standard” WooCommerce >> Coupons. The major differentiation is that coupon codes are generated automatically by the plugin at the moments that you define based upon reviews that are added to your storefront. On the approval or compositon of the review, discount coupons are automatically generated. When the coupon is generated it will be sent to the customer by email.

Here are the main features of WooCommerce Reviews for Discount:

Review Discounts

To access Review Discounts, just click on the review discounts from the menu. In this tab you can see list of generated copuns. To create different types of coupons go to section “Review Discounts” and click on “Add new” button.

Discount Coupon Creation

Review Discount tab has several discount options which make this plugin really powerful – the following options are available::

• Coupon Description: you can add description of the coupon.

• Triggering event: This feature allows you to choose when the coupon will be sent. There are two triggering event single review and multiple review.

• Single Review

  • Triggering Products: Products that will be give a coupon if reviewed.

  • Triggering product categories: Reviewing products of the selected categories will send a coupon.



• Multiple Reviewss

  • Requested quantity: How many reviews have to be written to receive the coupon.

  • Send notification approaching requested quantity: Send an email from a certain amount of review to get to the requested quantity to encourage users make other reviews.



• Discount Type:

• Coupon Amount: Fixed value or percentage off for this coupon.

• Validity Days: Set for how many days the coupon will be valid since the creation. Set to "0" for no expiration.

• Allowing Free Shipping: Check this box if the coupon grants free shipping. The free shipping method must be enabled and set to require "a valid free shipping coupon" (see the "Free Shipping Requires" setting).

• Single Use Only: Check this box if the coupon cannot be used in conjunction with other coupons.

• Exclude Sales Item: Check this box if the coupon should not apply to items on sale. Per-item coupons will only work if the item is not on sale. Per-cart coupons will only work if there are items in the cart that are not on sale.

Review For Discounts settings

In review for discounts settings following options are available:

• Enable WooCommerce Review For Discounts: Enable or disable WooCommerce Review For Discount functionality.

• When code is sent by email: at time of review or after the review has been accepted/approved.

• Email header color: select email header background color.

• Deletion of Expired Coupons: Expired or used coupons can be removed (only those created by this plugin) if you enable the option “Deletion of Expired Coupons”.

SendGrid Integration

WooCommerce Reviews for Discount plugin lets you use “Sendgrid” system to manage emails. all you need to do is enable SendGrid functionality, add SendGrid Form Email, and SendGrid email API keys.

Email Settings

WooCommerce Reviews for Discount plugin allows you to customize all emails generated by the plugin.

There are four types of emails

• Single Review: Email sent after a single review of a user.

• Multiple Review: Email sent once users have written a certain quantity of reviews.

• Customer Close to the Target: Email sent when customers are getting close to the requested quantity of reviews to get the discount. Administrators can choose when they want to send the reminding email about how many reviews need to be written.

• After Buying Product: Email is sent when customers buy the same product for which they write a review.
